Since 1941, our USC chapter has been dedicated to fostering a community of economics students and faculty, honoring outstanding achievements, and promoting research careers in economics.

The UChicago Econometrics Game is a fast-paced competition where teams of one to four undergraduate students from universities across the US are given 13 hours with a dataset to devise and answer a question of economic importance. Our members made it to the final round in the 2023 Game (top 5). Their paper was titled, The Train to Success: An Analysis of the Relationship between Public Transportation and College Completion.

Throughout the year, we bring in several notable guest speakers in the field of economics
Networking Events
We bring in USC alumni and firms looking to hire USC economics students to help Economics majors at USC make the right connections
Discussions
We consistently engage in discussion and debate regarding any relevant current event with like-minded individuals
Case Competitions
We put on case competitions for our members so that they have a chance to apply their economic, consulting, or other interests and skills to real-world scenarios
About Omicron Delta Epsilon
Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) is an international honor society in the field of economics. Resulting from the merger of Omicron Delta Gamma and Omicron Chi Epsilon, ODE was founded in 1963. Its board of trustees includes well-known economists such as Robert Lucas, Kenneth Arrow, and Robert Solow. ODE is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies; the ACHS indicates that Omicron Delta Epsilon has 88,000 members. ODE currently has 578 active chapters worldwide

Alan A. Brown was the founder and first President of Omicron Chi Epsilon (OCE) in 1955 while he was a student at City College of New York. Dr. Brown conceived the creation and the development of, first, a national, and then an international Honor Society in Economics. Friends and colleagues report that they were amazed watching this polite and deferring young person 'pestering' Nobel Prize winners and other giants of the economics profession to endorse, become involved in, and support this initiative, and succeeding.
